A very warm welcome to Women's College, Tinsukia.
With great pleasure, I am inviting you all to take an initial peek into the knowledge hub that we have been nurturing for more than five decades here at Women's College, Tinsukia. Established in 1966, the institution is going to complete fifty-seven years of its glorified existence on July 9, 2023. Having achieved the coveted milestone of successful completion of its Golden journey spanning five decades, the institution has already embarked upon its Diamond journey with vows to achieve greater heights and in this process to render even better services to the society.
Here at Women's College, Tinsukia we put all the hard works to ensure that our students get the best opportunities to learn, while enjoying their stints here and at the same time get themselves ready for challenges in the academic and professional worlds. We make sure that our students graduate from this College with knowledge and skills that would remain useful throughout their lives. Our college offers Four Year UG Degree Program (FYUGP) for B.A., B.Com. and BCA. along with two Diplomas & twenty-three Certificate Courses, all approved by Dibrugarh University.
Our classrooms are equipped with ICT facilities. We have two huge computer labs with more than 191 computers (164 for students use), equipped with broadband internet. With such a rich ICT infrastructure, we are better equipped to provide Online classroom facilities to our students. We have a very rich Library with thousands of books, Journals, media files (classic films, documentaries etc.), and e-Journals. Our College is the only College to have a Health Care Centre and an Ambulance of its own. A beautiful Ethnic Museum adjacent to the Auditorium depicts the true richness of the diversified ethnic culture of the region. For refreshment and relaxation, the students have a well-furnished Common Room with indoor game facilities. We have a robust Mentor –Mentee system for academic and non-academic excellence of students
In the Administrative building, you will come across office staffs who are polite, with alacrity to help. In our hostel, you can keep your wards in the safe and caring hands of the Wardens and other Hostel staffs. We also provide free Yoga training to our students. There is free Wi-Fi in the Hostel along with counselling facilities by professional counsellors. I feel extremely happy to inform all that we have a strong Career counselling and placement cell in the College that provides awareness, guidance and campus recruitment facilities to students to help them became financially independent.
With the strong belief that it must not remain a cloistered institution, the College has been running a wide range of extension activity programs to help society. Reliefs to disaster-stricken people have been provided from time to time.
It is a great privilege to be the Administrative Head of this prestigious institution and to work hand-in-hand with all the brilliant faculty members who share the same hopes and dreams with me for the future of the College with cheerful readiness. I am proud of my students, bright and exuberant, and believe that with the zeal and potential that they possess, they are going to make our nation proud in days to come.
