Department of Bengali

The Women’s College, Tinsukia established in the year 1966. It’s a big pillar in Tinsukia District. In the same year Bengali Department also established with the Subject of Bengali Hons. & Pass Course. In the same time H.S. Classes with Bengali MIL also started. From the very beginning the teachers of Bengali department were hard working for the improvement of the department and till today it’s successfully going on. All the Past and present teachers were working efficiently to improve the department. The final year Honours Students of Bengali department got top position in the Dibrugarh University i.e. 1st class first with distinction and 2nd Class 1st etc. Most of the alumnae were employed Various Schools and Colleges of Assam. Other than this various alumnae were established in their respective field like different Public Sector, NGO etc.  Bengali department celebrated different cultural Programme. Our department always tries to keep the memories of our renowned scholars by celebrating their birth anniversary and death anniversary, like Rabindra Jayanti, Nazrul Jayanti, Bhupen Hazarika Dev Jayanti etc. and more of that we also organized cultural programme and Quiz, Debate, Recitation, Alpana Competition etc.

On the foundation day of our college Bengali department has published a Magazine named ‘Prayas’ to make the students enhance towards Literature.
